KATE SCHILIRO

A Bit About Kate

Kate Schiliro is a Chicago-based performer. She is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. Her vivacity and athleticism complement her fit-and-flare style; but wait, there’s more! Kate’s curiosity, intellect, and talent allow her to thrust herself into unexpected roles with great intention and results.

Kate has been singing with the Bluewater Kings Band as lead female singer for the last 3.5 years. She first began singing in her grade school's Church choir, which led her to continue choral singing at both high school and collegiate levels in various styles. Kate has also been known to be "dancing through life" since her days as a wee tot - she grew up with 10 years of experience in competitive Irish Dance, which was complemented well with ballet, tap, and jazz training.

Kate is driven by the combination of hard work and pure fun that dance brings into her life daily.

Her first introduction to theater was in the fifth grade while where she took on the quintessential roles of "Candy Kid" and "Dancing Chef" in her grade school’s production of Willy Wonka. Since then, some of her favorite credits include Baker's Wife in Into the Woods (International Lyric Academy), Emmy in A Doll's House, Part 2 (Village Theatre Guild), and #46 in The Wolves (Stella Adler Studio of Acting).

A not-so-little known fact about Kate is that she played indoor and beach volleyball for 8 years. She fell in love with the sport and the teamwork that came with it. When she is not performing, you can find her on North Avenue Beach re-living her glory days.

Kate brings diligence, zeal, and a few dad jokes to her work on all projects.

Just a taste...
